Thinking about getting a 2002 Lexus gs300 with 162,000 miles on it. Would it be okay to daily it without a ton of mechanical issues popping up or should I just look the other way and not get it? I would trade it for my 2013 Hyundai Veloster with 64k miles on it .

  1. A 20 year old car is hard to rely on. I would definitely get rid the Hyundai.

What should I replace it with? I need a good daily that’s fun to drive for a good price

With some exceptions I would say something from Toyota/Honda . Between those two hondas are more exciting to drive. Depending on your budget a 2014 plus Mazda is a great choice.

Don't even bother. A 20 year old car with that many miles for daily driving is not the way to go. Pass.

Getting rid of the Hyundai definitely do it. Right now people are getting a lot more for their used cars so check places like Carmax, Carvana, etc. to find the value of your Hyundai and get rid of it while you can get the most for it. Then based on your budget and needs look at Toyota and Honda cars. Look at used and new because with the high used car prices sometimes new is more worth it specially if you plan on keeping the car for a long time.
