How were they as daily cars? Did they breakdown often or have a fatal flaw overlooked by it's styling?

You’re talking about atleast a 26yr old car. Regardless of its past track record of reliability, it’s a bad idea to use such an old machine as your daily driver. It’s best suited as a weekend toy, after a Mazda mechanic thoroughly inspects it, before you buy it.
