Ticking at cold start.

I got a 2007 Chevy Avalanche with 153k miles on it. Whenever I start it up in the cold I hear a ticking noise coming from the 5.3 engine. After it warms up quickly the sounds softens and goes away. I did disable AFM with a range device but it still makes that sound. I hooked up a scan tool and only got one code p0449 valve vent solenoid code( has to do with EVAP). What's the best first choice on fixing it?

I'm aware that EVAP code has nothing to do with the ticking noise. I'm more worried about the noise under the hood

Isolate the noise. Sounds like an exhaust manifold cracked or manifold gasket
