Ticking on cold starts

Hey Scotty, greeting from Chicago! Got a 2010 Mazda CX 7 ; automatic , 140,000 miles.
it’s starting to get pretty cold here, and I’ve been getting a ticking noise from my engine on cold starts. Only if the car has been sitting for over a few hours, and the ticking stops after the car idles down after about 4 minutes or so. Is this normal for cars to do in the cold? I’ve had my spark plugs, timing chain and gears replaced a little over 1,000 miles ago, and I’ve consistently changed the oil ever 3,500 miles.
thanks for any info!

boss those are notorious for having problems with the hydraulic lifters ticking when they're cold it would cost a fortune to replace them all on the engine but often they can run years that way
