Vehicle is a 2007 Toyota Hilux with about 227000km. Its been making this annoying clunk for quite a while, it has since gotten worse where I could feel it in the brake pedals when car is stationary. It occasionally hits the base of the trim slightly on the return sweep. Should I replace now or use it till craps out?

You need to have the cowling in front of the windshield removed to find out WHY the sweep is too long. it could be something simple but waiting till it breaks is not the answer. In fact it may be even more costly if you take that route.
