Timing belt

I have a 2012 Honda Accord Coupe with 70,000 miles on it. I live in Arizona. Summers are brutally hot. Should I have timing belt changed?

If you have a V6, your car has a timing belt with interference engine. I would change it sooner than later. If it is 4 cylinder, do not worry about it since it has timing chain.

Does your owners manual cover this topic? If not a maintenance advisor at a Honda dealership should have the answer.

Which engine do you have? As I recall the v6 is a timing belt engine, the 4cly is a timing chain. How many miles?

V6. 70,000 miles. Owners manual says change at 60,000.....when driven in high heat, guess it’s time. I once had ‘99 V6 Accord that I had the timing belt changed at over 100K miles, I requested the old belt and it looked great. Better safe than sorry, going to have it replaced

Also, it’s important to find out if your engine is an interference engine or not. If it is, and it uses a timing belt, then it’s highly recommended you get it changed at recommended intervals.
