Hey everyone! I need a new timing belt on my Lexus LX 2001 with 156,000mi. Should I also change my water pump as well while I'm at it?

Yes, and if you have a interference engine and that belt breaks, kiss you engine goodbye. I would suggest tomorrow calling the dealership and give them the vin and find out if you have an interference or non interference engine. If it’s non interference you can rest comfortably that if it breaks the engine is not jeopardized.

I highly recommend changing the water pump while you are at it. I did the timing belt and water pump for my 1999 Honda Accord. It was a PITA.
I wouldn't want to go through that again if I needed to change the water pump. Thank goodness I don't have to worry about it any time soon.
