Should I replace a timing chain on an Avalon 2011 with 142k miles? There’s a lot of contradictions out there, if it is a belt it must definitely have to be replace but for chain?

As long as you do regular oil changes, chains can last a very long time. Like 300k miles or more. Some say forever. I wouldn't worry about it at that mileage though. There are ways of checking it if you want, such as using a Timing light. They will stretch over time..
