Should I trust my 2011 Regal?

From the rustbelt I say HI!  Cleveland Ohio.  (Parma Ohio actually).

My 2011 Buick Regal started sounding terrible.  I only threw two sets of Chinese cam sensors at it until AFTER some research I found that I bought a real piece of &$%# engine.  This 2.4 ecotec is Trash.  This was a “rushed” purchase and I totally regret it.  I know better, but I got scammed.  This thing burns more oil than my 73 hardtail did.
My question:  I just need a car to last me a few more years.  I put a new timing chain in as directed, and it seems to be running fine.  I used daily drive name brand parts.  I don’t know if I should sell this while I can with a good conscience, or trust this repair will give me a few more years.  Also, is it possible for the oil consumption to be noticeably less after a timing chain replacement !?!?!  I do not want to buy another used headache, but I will NEVER put off researching again.  Regardless how hectic things can get!

No, that has nothing to do with oil burning. Unfortunately those engines really are terrible. About the only simple things that can be done to possibly reduce oil burning would be to replace the PCV valve and/or try removing excess carbon buildup with a product like ATS Carbon Clean that Scotty recommends.

What to do with a bad car is an ethical question we can't really answer here. There's no way to know how long your current repairs will keep it running and not much doubt you'd be better off without this thing and into something more reliable and durable. A popular solution for some is to get their lemon running OK and dumping it on one of the major used car flipping outfits like Carvana, Carmax, etc.
