1. Look private party for good deals, a good site is craigslist.

2. Look for good reliable cars and Scotty has many videos on them. For the used car buying guide on scottykilmer.com 's official FAQ, click here.

2. Make sure the price is good taking in consideration many factors combined like age, mileage, and conditon.

3. If a car is salvage title, don't even look at it if the cost is more than around %40 lower than the price of the identical clean title vehicle.

4. Test drive it, make sure nothing is odd.

5. Have an independent mechanic check it out before purchase as part of a pre-purchase inspection.
