Can I put 40psi in my tires

2005 Dodge Caravan SE 4 cylinder.

I carry a mobility scooter and drive 80% on city streets .

Plate by door says 36 p.s.i. Tires say 44 p.s.i. max.

Vehicle sits sometimes 2-3 weeks.

Can I run it with 40 p.s.i. ? Thanks.

A scooter weighs the same as two adults. The recommended pressure includes passengers, so you don't need to adjust.

Using anything higher will give a harsher ride, and your tires may wear unevenly.

Thanks, much appreciated!
