Hey scotty,

I ordered new tire for my Nissan Altima SV and accidentally 225/55/R17 instead of 225/50/R17. Does it matter of Ratio?

Does it matter of Ratio?

yes. it's a different size tire

Will it impact anything if I use it?

You can't be serious. You want one tire that's a different size? Not only is it going to look funny, and you'll be leaning to one side, but your car is going to drive around in circles. The ABS won't work. It won't steer properly .... do I need to go on?

If you bought all 4 the same, it will probably be ok, other than the speedometer will under-read your speed.  You’ll need to calculate a correction.

If you only bought 1 and it is different from the others, you need to change it or the car might not handle right.

You should always use the tire size recommended by the manufacturer as stated in your owners manual.

2 possible remedies to your situation:

1- Exchange the tire for one of the right size.

2- If that's not an option, order another tire of that same size and keep those two together as a pair on the back of the car. Make sure the taller tires have enough room (clearance) to function safely. One unknown risk of doing this is the possible adverse effect on the anti-lock braking system's ability to protect you.
