Hey Scotty this past Thursday night I got a flat tires. My Dextero All Terrain tires are only 15 months old. Because the shop saw this (non-penetrated) screw head they wouldn’t patch the obvious puncture. Had to buy a brand new tire. After my tire was removed from the rim. It is fact repairable. Should I go back to the old tire, or 3 fifteen months old tires and a brand new one?
use the old one and return the new one.
Tires should be replace in pairs.
This shop is useless. Don't go there again.
It was one of those corporate shops. I went there because I wanted a patch and not a plug like the independent shops would do.
I've never heard of a shop using a plug as a permanent repair. Patches (which are actually plugs too) are basic services that any shop can do.
The independent shops in my area will only use the string type plug. The corporate will actually use a patch. Which I have driven with a plug and had no issues for quite some time. I have had a plug on a trailer tire, actually went bad. With what the item was, and the fact the patch would be free. That’s the way I want to go.
that's highly abnormal. Anyway the incompetent service you got is about what I would expect from a chain shop.
