Are there any places in the Fargo, ND area that'll fix scraping brakes for less than $450 per axle? That's how much the repair place attached to the used car lot I bought my new rust bucket from said it'd cost. So, around $1000 all in, assuming the back also needs it, which he didn't say because they were closing and they are drum type and those have to be taken apart to assess he said. He also recommended buying a used tire to replace the wires-showing one I didn't notice it had when I test drove it. Google doesn't seem to know what a used tire is. Any used tire places around Fargo? The brakes were scraping when I test drove it. I'm made a $2000 gamble on that being the only real non-cosmetic issue.
I don't know of any shops in that area but you should be able to find an independent mechanic. Avoid chain joints like Meineke, Pep Boys, Firestone, etc.
Instead of used tires, if you need a good budget-priced tire I'd look at WalMart's "Douglas"brand which is made by Goodyear. (Avoid no-name Chinese tires.)
Stay away from any dealership at any cost.
