Torque Specs for carburetor to manifold bolts - 1986 Mazda B2000, manual

Hello Scotty,

Just want to say thank you for your videos, it's a joy to watch them.

My husband is working on his 1986 Mazda B2000, manual, 200K+. Looking for torque specs for the carburetor to manifold bolts. Info not listed in the oem manufacturer's manual. Kindly advise, thank you.

I've worked on a lot of carbureted vehicles over the years (decades) and I've always just snugged up the carb fasteners by feel. You don't want to over-tighten them.

Although not your carb, Holley recommends 60 to 80 inch-pounds which would be about 5-6 foot-pounds and that should be typical for most carbs.

Thank you!!

Welcome new member,

Cool little truck.  I doubt even Scotty's brain has that little nugget, but you never know.

If you don't already have an AllData subscription for that vehicle, that would likely have it.  If you prefer hard copy, it also looks like the Haynes manual for that truck is still in print, and they usually list most of the torque specs.

If AllData and Haynes don't list it, you'll probably have to guess (or maybe look up Toyota and Nissan trucks of the same vintage and see if you can find the comparable torque specs).

Good luck!

Thank you for the info!
