Scotty, I have a 2013 Honda Civic 4 cylinder automatic. According to the Honda owner manual towing capacity on it is up to a thousand pounds. Would you say it is safe to go above that a little bit? Thank you

how much is a little bit? And how often? How far? How much weight will there be inside the vehicle?

I would not do that. That's a Civic with automatic transmission and it really was not designed for towing.

If you're just towing it once in a while driving slow on side streets for a very short distance it will probably be ok, but if you're towing it for 3 hours on the free way or plan on towing often, it's a bad idea. You will probably be over the max tongue weight so that can be a hazard if driving on the freeway or higher speeds
