What are your thought on the Toyota 1.8 engine? Seems to be the only engine in the new Toyota's

The hybrid version is great, the modern day gasoline is pretty good - ValveMatic is not great.

Far from it, it's one of the engine options on the Corolla with most high trim levels offering a 2.0L...
@Dan What the problem with ValveMatic?
@Kaizen overly complex, has little effect on fuel economy and it’s not uncommon for it to glitch out (often causes the check engine light or really can feel like the car’s low on power)
