CEL light appears, hookup scan tool, shown no stored codes or pending codes. Remove scan tool without erasing code, and the CEL goes out for about 30 miles then the light re-appears. I've been told by other Toyota owners that Toyota does that to get ones to bring their car to a dealership to reset the computer when car hits certain number of miles. Of course we all know the end results will be few Jackson or Benjamin's. The car considering age and mileage runs without hesitation.
Scotty that consensus seems to be of some truth because you'd think the scanner would at least show a code, but nothing.
Thanks

This information is also probably in your owner's manual.
Which scan tool are you using to read codes?
