2004 Toyota Camry 2.4L 4 cyl. Automatic. Only have 65000 miles. Rarely drive it. Last week, it wouldn't start so I got it jump started and replaced a very old battery. It worked great for about a week then it wouldn't start again. I got it jump started again to go home. I took it to O'Reilly next day and they measured the battery and said it seemed ok. O'Reilly guy said it was either my alternator or starter. The car would not start again at O''Reilly's and he tried to jump start my car with their jump starter and nothing! While I was waiting for the tow truck, I tried a few time to start the car while I waiting and it started and I was able to get home without the tow truck's help. I just don't know what to do at this point. I have been fleeced by so many unscrupulous mechanics in the past I am horrified about taking it to another mechanic. I have spent hours researching YouTube videos about the possible reasons for my car's no start. I've been out of work for about a year and I am at a loss right now. I don't know what to do anymore. Can anyone help me?
Check the voltage of your battery to determine its state of charge. Even if new if it's undercharged it won't be able to operate the starter.

Once you determine the battery has a sufficient charge, hot-wire the starter solenoid directly to the battery to see if the starter works. You could also try hitting the starter with a piece of wood or other blunt object that won't damage it to see if that will temporarily make it work. Of course also check those 18-year-old cables and battery terminals. Don't discount the possibility of a bad ignition switch.
Thanks Chuck. I appreciate your time and recommendations. I am very grateful for your input.
