Hey Scotty, I really want the 4 cyl solara. What would I need to do in order to ensure the excessive oil burning doesn't occur in the toyota 2az-fe engines or repair it when the issue arises?

Get one that was made in japan. The Camry generation from 2002-2006 also had the 2az-fe 2.4 but it did not have issues as it was made in Japan, Scotty said. As production moved to the US, newer Solara's (07 08 09) as well as Camry's Corolla's and Camry's started having issues. My friend has a rav4 with the engine and it is a pain. I would not get one that is burning oil, which generally starts at around 80 90k miles.
