[Solved] Toyota Auris or Avensis diesel opinions in the UK

Hi   🙂 Hey there,

I am looking to change my car to either a Toyota Auris or Avensis 1.6 diesel.2017 to 2018. My misgivings are that bmw were involved in the engine build. I do 1000 miles a month an need a reliable fuel efficient car. Is this a good car to go for?

I am in the Uk

Well of course they don't sell them here in the United States any diesels. But from my experience with friends in England those diesels hold up quite well

Hy there!

Yes, 1.6 1WW engine is actualy BMW N47 diesel. I'm familiar they are prone to timing chain problems.

There is also a recall going on.
