My daughters 2015 Camry has 55,000 miles, I changed the fluid it was black but didn’t smell burnt, road test after it kept up and down shifting going up 7 % grade. I changed fluid again but dropped pan changed filter and gasket, replaced with Amsoil synthetic and Lucas additives, should I worry? Didn’t use Toyota OEM fluid.

Amsoil synthetic and Lucas additives, should I worry?

YOU SHOULD - you put in the wrong fluid!

YOU NEED ONLY WHAT YOUR MANUAL PRESCRIBES, (IF I REMEMBER) IT'S TOYOTA WS.

(The spec of the fluid you put in:)

You put in some crappy fluid for 90s cars and added an additive to ruin it all the way.

Why would you even put random fluids in your car without checking if that's what you ned.

What you should do now, is go flush the automatic, (I know, but you do need a flush now)

buy the finest Toyota OEM fluid and filter, drive 500-1,000 miles, replace fluid and filter again with OEM,

and PRAY that it lasts another 50k miles.

I think Scotty Kilmer always recommends keeping the old fluid. Did you do that to put it back in if needed?.

I think it's importatn that it was changed before 30,000 miles as well, since shavings of the new transmission can get in there.

But I'm probably just making it worse for you.
