I am comtemplating purchasing a toyota avalon limited 2018 from a toyota dealership, it has 50,ooo miles on it  and is an automatic.  it was driven in burmingham NY for 5 years by 1 owner (average 50 inches of snow a year). concerned about rust and electric issues. also tires are 20 inch with and concerned about tires blowing out over pot holes.  are these valid concerns and should the car be bought?  i will be buying car in NJ.  what are pros and cons of avalon limited? wondering good price for the car?

As you probably know, you would need to have a pre-purchase inspection performed by a certified mechanic who could assess any rust issues in addition to performing an detailed overall inspection.
I think the 2018 Limited came with 18” wheels so the 20’s are not OEM. I realize that it would be an additional expense but I would consider going back to the original 18’s or even the 17” that came on the XLE model if they would fit to have a much improved ride quality and cheaper tire replacement cost.
At 50k miles it may be close to needing the automatic transmission fluid changed.
If this is the vehicle listed at Holman Toyota in Trenton, the oil and filter changes were a bit sporadic being performed anywhere between 5-8k miles. Not exactly at the preferred and recommended 5k changes. I never will understand why someone would purchase such a high quality and highly dependable automobile and “cheap out” on the oil changes.
You can check the website: edmunds.com for an overall detailed review for this Avalon and check the website: carcomplaints.com for reported problem areas.
