Hi Scotty,

Firstly I enjoy your show and its great to learn new things about cars from your expertise. I think you're great and hope it runs forever. I'm from the UK and I drive a 2005 Toyota Avensis 2.2 D4D T4 (T25 model) its a great car but I don't have these in the United States. Do you know anything about them? If so whats your opinion of them?

Well Toyota makes great cards everywhere they don't sell the diesels here but I have friends in London who use diesel Toyotas for cabs and they love them

That's Toyota make good cars. I've use to drive Honda Accords and they've all been excellent. One day a van hit me from behind and wrote off my car. And as I work with a lot of people who drive German cars especially BMWs I thought I'd give it a go. So here's what happened to me. Got myself a BMW 525d Touring (E61) great car but after 3 months later it got vandalised and they damages all underneath the car, ripped off the exhaust, damages the cat and that car was a write off, sadly. Then I got a BMW 330d (E46) performed well but 3 weeks later engine blew even though it just had a service! So then I only had very little money left and I got myself a Audi A6 Avant 1.9 TDi PD130, it was OK for a while but then it was like trying to piece a jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces 🙂 I broke down 3 times in it and once was a puncture but had to get roadside assistance as I couldn't get the wheel nuts loosened as the previous owner or tyre fitter over tighten them! 🙂 It's crazy!!! Anyway I thought to myself I just had to get rid of it and so I did thank god! So going to German cars and having all these problems I craved reliability and so I did my research and I knew I had to go back to Japanese. I never had a Toyota before but my father in law has got one and I drove it and loved it!!! So I knew I had to get one. And I'm so relieved and happy that I did. What an exceptional piece of machinery. Would i go to German cars again.....probably not 🙂 haha. Well I wouldn't buy one again only if I won it in some sort of competition haha 🙂 But even if I did win one I would SELL IT STRAIGHT AWAY HAHA!! Thanks Scotty and hope to hear from you soon.

What mileage and years were they when you bought them. If first BMW was insured, vandals made you a favour😆

Hi G.T. sorry for the really bad delay to respond back. The first BMW 525d Touring '04 was 127,000 miles and the BMW 330d '03 was 163,000 miles. Audi A6 Avant 1.9TDi PD130 '04 was approaching 200,000 miles. Yes the vandals did me a favour 🤣 But I did enjoy that 525d Touring E61 it felt different compared to the other typical BMWs and didn't have any problems, shame!
