hello i have a Toyota corolla 2000 manual with ~270.000km and when i start it up cold (around 10°C where i live), the rpm goes up and down until it stalls, unless i press the gas pedal. the problem goes away after it is warmed up. any idea how to diagnose and fix this? ODB codes i get are P0505 and P0420 (the later i think is irrelevant)

Replace the IAC valve.
