I have an 07 corolla with 172000 miles and it's a 5 speed. Today I got up to highway speed and engaged cruise control and it went off by itself light and all without me pressing on the brakes and the speedometer and tachometer went haywire and jerked a little just wondering what you think could be the issue. Bad transmission speed sensor?

Did you get a check engine light? Something could be making one of your wheels drag a little like a sticking caliper or bad wheel bearing. When was the last time you had your brakes checked?
No check engine light and brakes are fine

Ok then check for vacuum leaks, air filter, pcv valve, fuel filter, spark plugs. Hopefully its one of those.
