Suspension concerns

Currently drive a 2017 Ford Mustang Ecoboost performance pack.

Just about 90k on the clock.

Car currently has -

afternarket borla exhaust

Whiteline front and rear sway bar with adjustable endlinks.
Yellow speed coilovers

Hitch

6 piston brembo brakes

recently I had my front struts confirmed by Ford we’re going out as I was getting a clunking noise from the front. Decided to go the coilover route as I have had them sitting around the house. Just needed a good reason to put them on. (The eventual plan was to track the car.)

called a couple shops, got a quote had them install front and rear coilovers and sway bars and endlinks. Life was good, the drive was very much quite now. Fast forward 4 months.

now I am getting a clunking noise from the rear. I spoke to whiteline who told me to see if the endlinks had play in them and to see if the middle polyurethane bushings were greased properly. I told them the noise was not centralized, and sounded more like it was coming from the wheel than the middle of the car.

the other issue I’m now starting to get this noise in the front again but it stopped last night for some reason. But the noise in the rear remained.

when does this happen. Any slight bumpy road or anything.

I’m confused as to where this sound is coming from. Is there any way to 100% confirm by looking at end links if they’re toast? The end links seem to be tight with out any play.

Neither coilover is leaking anything from what I can tell/

I have pictures of them but unsure how to link them or post them here of the rear suspension of that helps at all.

That may help you determine if it is the end links. To me, I agree with Whiteline: it sounds like some of the bushings weren't properly greased.

Here is a good way to tell on that: if you are getting clunking only when it is dry out, it's the bushings. In the rain, you won't hear it because the water lubricates the bushings just enough to keep them quiet. Something to keep an ear out for and possibly help you rule that out.

Wife is driving the car currently so I’ll text her and ask on her way home.

Any possible chance it maybe the springs and the pillows not correctly set? And making noise under light pressure.
I’m about to charge my go pro and throw in it there and really get an idea

It could be. I'll be curious to know what you find out on it.

I would suspect the brakes and wheel bearings. Would like to know if there is any play in the tires. Possibly there is a worn out tie rod or ball joint.

Shop before said the wheels did not shake, so wheel bearing isnt a thought I wouldn’t think?
Plus why would it be intermittent?
Tie rod possible but doubtful thag would the issue on both?
Ball joint maybe but goes back to my question why would it be no noise after the shop them month later show up

They could have installed a cheap ball joint. I have seen brand new ball joints last just a few months. Did you have both ball joints done or just one side?

Ball joints weren’t replaced?
The endlinks were brand new. All 4 endlinks were brand new.
