I'm in the market for a new 2022-2023 Corolla hatchback, which transmission is known to be more reliable and overall better to go with CVT or manual?
Thanks.
Well you can't go wrong for both. Toyota makes the best CVTs as long you change fluid on those but the manual lasts the absolute longest.
which transmission is known to be more reliable
A Toyota manual transmission is known to be the most reliable. Another consideration regarding your purchase (and eventual the sell of), an automatic will typically sell more quickly. As @rob87 stated either should be reliable
Manual
Definitely the manual transmission. It's more simple to maintain and whenever something goes wrong with it (which would possibly never happen because it's a Toyota), it can be repaired a lot quicker and cheaper simultaneously whereas the CVT can be reliable in those vehicles however it doesn't give you that feeling that you would have when you're driving a vehicle with an automatic. Plus if it does break, it can be a fortune repairing it as well. So out of those two options, the manual is always the best bet.
manual transmissions are more durable of course, but I still wouldn't buy one.
