Toyota Dealership Selling Brand New GMs and Lexus?

I was on my way home after getting my family food for lunch. I saw that the Toyota dealdership was full of vehicles in its new inventory lot so I thought, "Wow! This is exciting! Is the shortage thing about to end?" So, I decided to drove in the dealership and discovered another shock. There were only about 12-15 brand new Toyota vehicles on the lot.

The interesting thing is the rest of the vehicles on the lot were brand new GM brands from SUVs to Truck and a row of 15+ Lexus SUVs. When I said brand new GM, I meant brand new 0-1 mile on the odometer 2021-2022 GMs. Does anyone have any idea what is going on or what they are doing?

I understand Lexus is also Toyota but GMs???

Oh, and the GMC dealership right next to the Toyota dealdership doesn't have a full new inventory. I visited their website and saw that they only have about 20 new GMC and Cadillac vehicles.

If I was a GM dealer, I'd really be pissed to see cars shipped to other brand's dealerships while the market is so good for sales.

Car Dealership Motto - IF THEY ARE BUYING IT WE ARE SELLING IT

This!

No matter how bad the vehicle is.

I’d be miffed if my lunch was cold, unless it was salad or soba noodles..!

Did this Toyota dealer also own other dealerships (multiple brands, same owner)?

I agree. Often you these "Auto groups" or "Auto Malls". One company owns a cluster of dealerships all next to each other. It was probably easier to just unload all the cars in one place, before they distributed them to the appropriate dealership.

Are those Dealership own by the same person? That could be it

Where I live, some dealers sell only one brand, some more of them.
