Toyota Dynamic force vs Mazda SkyActiv engine

Hello Scotty,

Which is better between the Toyota Dynamic force engine and Mazda SkyActiv engine ?

It’s a though choice cause both have their flaws,

personally I’d pick the Dynamic Force even their 3 cylinder engine is smooth and well built.

although I’ve also herd very positive things about the SkyActiv engine.

Both SkyActiv and Toyota Dynamic Force are marketing terms for several technologies, which include, but are not limited to direct injection, compression ratio, exhaust, air flow, intake angle, etc...  And it seems both Mazda and Toyota have used similar tricks to maximum fuel efficiency while maximizing engine output.

In Europe, the SkyActiv is known for it's motor oil dilution problem, which plagues all modern Mazda cars that live in cold areas here. Check local forums and car review sites to see if this problem exists in your region too.
