I noticed those going up in value a couple years ago.  I'm not surprised that's the asking price.  As to whether that's a fair or reasonable price, there's no point looking at what they used to be worth.  The only question is what are they really worth now?

For perspective, that's about the same price as a new Jeep Compass.  It's also about the same as a 5-year-old 4Runner, which is almost as capable, more reliable, and more livable.

The FJ is cool, for sure.  However, they are rough, cramped, and getting older by the day.  So you have to ask yourself if you absolutely have to have one.  If not, there are better values out there.

Is that what is being asked, or what somebody paid? They are a kind of a modern collectible, but that is ridiculous - that's what they cost new, ten years ago.

The price is absolutely insane for a used one, it's a price of a brand new FJ Cruiser back then. They're probably robbing you more money to sell vehicles.
