Buying a new mazda cx 5 and am thinking of Corrosion Free rustproofing. I Know Ziebart and Krown are more well known but I would like your opinion on which is best, if it is worth it and can it cause any harm. Thanks

From random articles I've read, Mazda's do not seem to have as good a record as modern Toyotas do for rust issues.  If you are in the rust belt, and plan on keeping the vehicle for an undetermined amount of time, I think rust proofing is worth it.

Personally, I've used Ziebart with fantastic results.  The key with Ziebart is to have their rustproofing applied when the car is new like you are doing.

As far as doing harm, an experienced Zeibart technician should be able to handle the job without creating any issues.

After the application, try to avoid driving the car for a few days in order to avoid picking up too much road debris before it hardens up.

In the early 1980s AMC started applying Zeibart rustproofing at the factory to their cars. Those held up much better in the rust belt than earlier models.

Very interesting, I was not aware of that.

I used to have mid-1980s AMC Eagles for winter use. It took decades for those things to develop any serious rust. Earlier models would develop rust problems much more quickly under those conditions.
