Get the Hilux if you want the longevity and less repair costs.

The Hilux is obviously the best of the lot. But in the Phillipines, I would also recommend the diesel Mitsubishi Pajero pickup & the diesel Nissan Navara & the diesel Isuzu MU-X pickup. They’re stubbornly reliable (especially) with a manual.

If you’re looking for hassle free ownership & rough usage, yeah, go Hilux..

If you can afford the Hilux then get that.

I'm in the Hilux camp on this one.

The Hilux is the most reliable - there is no arguing that, they're super reliable but check if it drives well enough for I herd people complain their breaks are weak and that the engine doesn't have enough torque.

I'd personally get the much (at least where I live it is) cheaper Mitsubishi Triton, I worked with one once and I remember it surprising me with how well it drove compared to older trucks, the 2.4 diesel had 180Hp with 430NM felt nice and the Toyota autoatmic gearbox was actually smooth and nice.

In fact I liked it so much I consider getting a Triton Barbarian / Mitsubishi Hunter not as a work truck but as a weakened toy.

BUT they do not seem last longer then 220,000-250,000 km.

The ISUZU D-Max is also a nice cheaper alternative but I do not know how well their drive but they're definitely reliable.

I wouldn't trust the new Ranger, Ford trannies aren't that great and the 10 speed is too new to say. some have the EcoBoost and those aren't that well built either...

I'd avoid the new Ranger, It just doesn't seem to be as well built as the old ones.

TLDR: If the Hilux drives well enough for you, it's unbeatable. otherwise consider the Triton or the D-Max.
