Hi I’m looking at buying a 1999 Toyota Prado VX Automatic with the 3.4L petrol 5VZ-FE engine with a full service history and 146 396 miles on it, is this a safe buy? My dad is a little apprehensive about a vehicle this old and with more than 125 000 miles, what can I say and do to help alleviate his worries about the vehicle, your advice is much appreciated!

It can be a good one. They are a version of Land Cruiser that have not been sold in the US. Have your mechanic check it.

If all of the documentation is present, then you know how the car was treated and whatever part was replaced at whatever mileage. Have a mechanic look it over and take it for a test drive to make sure that it drives smooth.
