Hi guys,
What can you tell me about the Toyota previa?
With the engine mounted in the cab and being supercharged, are they a nightmare to work on? They have a lot of interesting features but working on the engine? A real expensive job?
A mid-engine car is always expensive in repairs. As far as I know, we do not have new ones in the US and the old ones are not that popular.
Not all Previa's were supercharged. Being mid engined, naturally, they were not exactly easy to work on. Although Toyota did make it a little easier by having the access pannel under the drivers seat. Having said that those were excellent minivans. They were probably the best minivans ever made. Scotty said that the only reason that they were discontinued was because they were too expensive to make. Previas have a cult following and they are the one minivan that actually may become a collectors item.
Often, the entire frame needs to be lifted off the engine. See what that might look like, here.
Any sports car is hard to work on.
Yes, you have the option of buying a supercharged mid-engine rwd manual transmission minivan in the 90s.
