Toyota wish 2011 1.8L CVT with 85000 KM. There is a random rattling noise coming from the engine bay. Took it to the mechanic and he replaced the water pump but the noise still exists. Suspect it's the alternator. It doesn't sound like anything is grinding and the noise is not continuous. What should I do next?

You should pinpoint the noise first before throwing money away by replacing random parts.
