I live in Napa Californian and am a big Toyota fan. Always had Toyotas in my garage. Recently I bought a rav4 xle in march 2020 for about 34k . Just after 157 miles the battery gave up on me. Had to tow it to the dealership they ended up changing the battery.
Fast forward I bought my daughter a Toyota Camry se for about 29k in June 2020. the car was only 450 miles when the battery gave up on it too. the dealership gave me a hard time saying the battery was okay and nothing was wrong with it. The tech said "I need to drive the car more often and everyday for the battery to not die again". and my response was what if I travel and park it at an airport. Do I need to get it towed too. After contacting the management and fighting for a bit the battery was finally changed. With all this I gave up on Toyota and will never buy any Toyota again.
No longer a Toyota fan !!!!!
batteries aren't a big deal. Such a low value item.
@mountainmanjoe
I know but the fact that the dealership don't want to acknowledge that there is a problem in the vehicle and try to blame it on you. That's sad . Also having the same problem on two different vehicle ???/
@sarthak
I'm sorry you had this trouble. Anyway, this is a forum for asking car questions. It's not a Toyota complaint box. If you would like advice or have a question, then please phrase it as such or else I will have to delete it next time. Thank you.
@mountainmanjoe
bro watch your tone!! I smell attitude if you don't like it don't reply or delete it I don't care. I did it because I like the channel and scotty takes feedback as well. So go take your authority somewhere else.
After Channing the batteries, have you had any problems?
@yaser
The Camry still had issue with the fuel gauge which shows incorrect reading vs the range that it shows on screen. Took it to the dealership but was never fixed. As apparently that's not a problem.
How do you know which one is correct? The fuel gauge or the range. I would trust the fuel gauge more since it measures the level of fuel while the range calculate based on the mpg. If you believe that the fuel gauge is not functioning properly and dealer does not accept it, take the car to an independent mechanic shop and change the sending unit for the fuel. It is really not that difficult to change.
