Hey

I bought a used Toyota RAV4 2015, running 162000 km odo inspection report tells bad transmission oil. I go to mechanic shop to change transmission oil one mechanic said we should change it slowly 1 litre per session for 4 times, other said no dont you ever think of changing toyota transmission oil otherwise you would responsible if transmission fails.

My car feels shaking while it changes gears specifically in morning like same as like if we try to put higher gears on low rpm. Is it normal with Toyota RAV4 or should i take the risk

Please your expert opinion in this regard?

You are past 100K miles on the old trans fluid.  Toyota recommends and change between 60-100K miles, but for longevity, 30-50K miles is much better.  If it were mine, I'd do a drain and filter and refill only, no flush.

I am only 1000 km past since i buy it and Toyota recommends no change of transmission fluid in user manual

160,000 km = 100,000 miles

inspection report tells bad transmission oil.

What exactly does that mean? Did they give you more information on that?

Inspect the fluid yourself and make a decision accordingly. Check the FAQ section of this forum on this topic.

He said on visual inspection transmission fluid seems not changed for very long

It's your transmission.  Scotty generally recommends a change at 30-50K miles if you want it to last.
