Hey Scotty,
I have got an automatic 2010 Toyota Rush with mileage at 108 000km, the car drives great but whenever I shift into reverse it takes 2-3 seconds then I feel a rough jerk as it engages into reverse. At first, I thought its the rear differential engaging rough but now I suspect it's my transmission. Should I change my transmission fluid and differential oil or is my transmission just going out?
What the heck change the fluid and filter and pray that is a sign that the pump isn't pumping correctly when you start it up sometimes they get clogged and new fluid and filter might help

That's how you check the valve body on a lot of cars.

If the fluid is not fully burned and does not have chunks in it.
Yeah, I think these use Toyota T-IV, but as always, check your manual.
Your problem has nothing to do with your rear differential. The rear differential does not engage and disengage. It has to do with the transmission.
