Hi my 2020 tacoma has 3k. I crunked the truck up, warned it up for 5 minutes. Pulled out in the road. Starting accelerating up a hill 45 degrees. The truck shook and jerked while shifting. And cut off, wouldn't crank back up for about 10 minutes. Drove about. 7 of a mile. Stalled again, waiting half an hour. The truck never made it to operating temp. Cranked it up and it stalled 3 more times in less than a mile. Eventually i ended up pushing the truck to my driveway. But it ended up being able to push forward in reverse on pretty much level ground. The truck in park. Runs rough and will eventually. The rpms jump around, the trucks shakes. However it wouldn't stall until driving. Does anyone have and idea of what this is? I'm thinking fuel pump, but the issue with being able to roll forward in reverse screams transmission.
I’m assuming since it’s a 2020 and has under 5000 mi it’s under warranty correct? Get it over to the dealership. If you can’t drive it there an have to haul it over make them pay for that and tell them exactly what you typed here and they will repair the issue. Wether it’s transmission or fuel pump or something else entirely.
If there aren’t any codes, odds are it’s the fuel pump. But like top gun said, if it’s under warranty, take it in & have them figure it out.
Thanks for your inputs, it was the fuel pump. However i got another issue probably related to something they did when replacing it. P0445 p0441.
@kyle26 typical stealership, create a new problem while fixing something else. Let’s hope didn’t damage the evap system & it’s an easy fix. Can you please post a new question mentioning the codes? Since this question is already marked as answered.
