Scotty, Is the Toyota 4.6L a good engine in a Tundra I figure it might be considering it’s a part of Toyota the all seeing.


I haven’t yet come across Toyota’s profile on tinder..

you use Tinder? lol if you do find a Tundra on there there must be some good amount of love towards Toyota in general.

You are asking about the 1UR-FE V8 engine in the 2010-2019 Toyota Tundra - yes those are good, reliable engines.  We had a question about that (versus the 5.7L V8) to give you more insight:

Yes they are good engines but you want to see if its interference or not and whether they come with a belt or chain. Maintenance tends to be expensive as it ages as its a V8 but the engine itself is reliable and I know no major common problems with them.


The current generation Tundra has both engines (4.6L and 5.7L) as interference engines with timing chain (but timing chain can last a long time).
