Hello,
My Dad has a 2016 Rogue with 97,000km on it.
Went into limp mode the other day, and was towed to Nissan dealership.
I scanned it, and got code P0776.
It's still under warranty for the powertrain. A couple of questions.
1. From what I understand, the pressure control solenoid is part of the transmission, so there is no way Nissan should be able to say "not covered", am I right?
2. How big of a problem is this? I told him not to get a Nissan, and if they fix it under warranty, should he trade it in for a Rav4? Maybe a Leaf if he's going to go electric?
(Lots of government subsidies here.)
3. Assuming it wasn't under warranty, what kind of a repair bill would we be looking at? (Vancouver, Canada.)
Many thanks,
Ag.

It's not that simple, I'm afraid. You will have to read the fine print on the warranty. There will be several exceptions.

Rav4 is a good car. EV's are very expensive to repair.

The only information you have is an error code. That is not enough for an accurate diagnosis. No mechanic will give you a quote on such limited information.
