Envoy steers to the left when braking !

Hi Scotty,

This is for one of my cousins. His GMC envoy with 200k kms has a problem of steering to the left when braking. He has tried everything which are changing all four tyres, tie rod ends, suspensions, complete front bushings, and also brake pads (OEM). Also did an alignment. He also had his calipers checked and they seem to be braking OK. What could be the issue here? Non of the mechanics nor GMC themself are able to figure it. One of the GMC staff had told him it is the wheel bearing on the left. But there is no obvious connection for wheel bearing and braking.

Focus very closely on the rotors, callipers & the brake lines.

Callipers seem to be okay is a bit vague, I’d have them professionally tested to find a definite answer or else they’re gonna have to throw parts at the problem, which will obviously be $$$.

You didn’t mention the year, but it could just be unevenly worn out rotors. Start there.

It is a 2008 model.

Still on the factory rotors?

Yes.

Has their thickness been measured recently? Does the steering wheel shudder/shake when braking at high speeds?

Thickness measured, no. YEs, He did indicate that at 120 when braking there is a shaking till about 50 KM but more pulling to the left for which he has to turn hard to the right.
