First of all I want normal answer with pros and cons (without answers like I drive z and like only z)

question is: Toyota prime or Honda clarity?

>they both are for efficiency

They both have reputation for reliability

but which one to choose?

I’m probably on of the few that find modern Honda hybrids compelling. The jury is still out on how long they will last, since it is new technology.

You’d have to make sure this is true for the Clarity.  I know it’s true for the CRV hybrid.

The modern Honda hybrid is basically an EV to about 45 mph. It uses the ICE, internal combustion engine, to generate electricity, rather than drive the car. Above 45 mph, the ICE may drive the car, but it is impossible below that threshold.

The Prius and many others hybrids split or share duties between the ICE and the electric motor.

while the Prius and the Prime are time tested tech, I think that Honda has a compelling hybrid product.

Thanks for sharing your view. I look at phev clarity to compare it to Prius prime. Because I am on of few who thinks that Prius design is bad

Toyota has been making hybrids longer, their hybrid system is more reliable, and the CVT transmission pared with the hybrids tend to last longer.

Honda hybrids are not as reliable as Toyota hybrids, and have CVTs which are weaker.

I’d go with the Toyota hybrid. Honda makes the world’s best internal combustion engines.

Pros - Toyota has been making hybrids since a long time, they last a while before they break.

Cons - super expensive to buy new & when they need repairs.
