Hello Im a college student looking for an affordable car with good gas mileage and a overall nice exterior and interior. Ive narrowered it down to toyota or honda but i cant decide. Which car is the better one a 2010/11 honda civic or 2010/11 toyota camry?
There's a variable missing from your equation: Which of these particular cars has the best maintenance history? There's an old saying from sports drafts: "Take the best athlete available." Both vehicles are good. Find the one that's had the best maintenance history (oil, coolant, transmission changes, etc), all other things being equal.
I would also consider a Toyota Corolla, 2010-2013. The Camry in those years, though officially solved by 2010, had oil burning issues and a low quality interior that would crack. The Civic would be my choice between the Civic and Camry especially the later year of the generation assuming they are in the same mechanical shape. You would want a mechanic to check it out and buy whichever one has better maintenance done and service records.
It comes down to mileage, what you value, price, and maintenance as mentioned above. Assuming all same, here would be my rankin from a reliability standpoint
1. Toyota Corolla, 2013>2012>2011>2010
2. Honda Civic, 2011>2010>2009>forget about before
3. Toyota Camry, not recommended by me for that generation, but 2010-2011>2007-2009
