Toyotas with GDI reliability opinions

The newer Toyotas have GDI + regular port injection. Are they less reliable as a result?

Toyota has been using port + direct injection (what they call D-4S) in their engines as far back as the mid 2000s and there really hasn’t been major issues with that system.  Nothing beats having purely port injection (simpler and less complex), but I’d rather have port/direct injection over strictly direct injection-only engines, especially Toyota’s who have been using it for well over a decade  and a half (at least), and it’s proven technology for them.

I wouldn't think they would have reliability problems. I haven't heard of anything major to this point.

Scotty said that he hasn't seen one break yet.
