Hello Scotty,

I know you dont have it in the states,

But, since i cant afford a Corolla (30 grand here in Israel!) I'm considering a Toyota aygo X.

It has a 1.0 engine, and it has the (good?) TNGA GA-B Toyota platform.

I would love to hear your thoughts about it, although you dont have it in the states.

Thanks

Oren

@dan should be able to fill you in on the details of that car.

Corolla (30 grand here in Israel!)

$30k doesn't even buy a Yaris nowadays, and things are bound to get worse - each year "green" taxes increase on January 1st.

The Corolla STARTS at $40k for the sedan, but it's a 3 cyl. A good Corolla Space 4 cylinder comes out to $43.8k.

It has a 1.0 engine,

Same KR-series as the Peugeot 108 / Citroen C1 - not terrible but not great!

TNGA GA-B Toyota platform

It has only received 78% in the EuroNCAP, while the Yaris on the "same" platform got 86%.

Generally, I do not recommend the AyGO - since there's no information about the brand new tiny CVT.

I do not see the appeal of the AyGO at $25k, way too expensive!

You should add a bit and get a Yaris instead if you want a small car.

Additionally, The $30k Stonic, only base powertrain and base trim - good value, decent cars.
