i own a 2006 eclipse GT however the check engine light bulb burned out. sometimes the traction control will stay off and i cant turn it on and sometimes i can turn it off and on. does Mitsubishi do what Toyota does when the check engine light comes on the traction control automatically turns off or is it a more serious problem.

Connect a good all systems scanner and scan for codes.
By the sounds of things you do have an issue both with the powertrain and TCS,
It doesn't necessarily mean it's an expensive fault, but you'll have to read the codes to know.
