I’m thinking about trading in my 2018 Ram 2500 Mega Cab Diesel 4x4 for a 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD 4x4 . I’m not towing anymore RVs since Airbnb’s are cheaper and nicer. I owe 5 years on my Ram and my payment will be $250 less a month over the same period. Thank you for your time sbd your show is awesome.

I loved my 98 4runner, rock solid and reliable, but as I get older, it was just too rough to drive the long distances that I do now. I bought the cousin of the 4th gen 4runner and land cruiser, the GX470 and love the ride. It is tough in all weather conditions, and like driving a Cadillac.

The 5th gen 4runners are good vehicles as well, but I suggest you rent one and drive it a couple of days, see how you like it. The biggest complaint I hear is the ride quality, and driving characteristics stink. If you don't drive long distances, that may not bother you. My butt and back have a lot of say so in what I buy now though.

I wouldn't say it's a bad idea. Have you considered waiting for the 2023 4Runner?

If that is when they are going to the 6th gen, I wouldn't want to buy that in 2023. No history behind it to see if it follow the tradition of reliability.

Or you could lease the redesigned 2023 4Runner. That option would still be on the table.
