Hi Scotty,
I’ve got a 2005 Trailblazer LT with 242,000km. Loved your recent video liking these workhorses. One thing they all do is the front differential leaks and eventually goes dry and burns out. Let me tell you they are a bear to remove buried under under the subframe and quoted 11.5 hours to re & re. I’ve been topping up the fluid, because, as you say, “fluids cheap”... but I can’t stand the mess or the stink. Waddya think of this solution attempt as “Stop Leak additives just aren’t gonna cut it:
After cleaning the diff up all nice and draining the fluid, attach a vacuum to the vent line. Hopefully creating a negative pressure inside the diff case. Then liberally applying RTP gasket sealer all around the outside of the casing seam. Would this be enough to draw the sealer into some of the gaps? I use my 4WD often and the bill is just not worth the extended labour.
Great channel!...cheers,
that might work for a few days. I think the important question is why do they leak in the first place.
Hey it might good luck and I have a great luck with at 205 reseal
